Due to childcare and a bully of a manager I'm not going to work past my hours,

Do I just tell him in the morning and leave behind what I wouldn't complete? Or would I take it all out and bring whatever back?

The manager is trying to co duct me for every little thing including folding a greetings card and putting it through the letterbox (didn't say do not bend) and I don't remember even seeing the card in question, I have fact findings coming out of my ears atm as it's every little thing causing undue stress for me and my family

Just tell him you won't get done, it's up to him to decide whether he takes it off you before or you bring it back. He might ask you to judge how much but make sure you tell him it's only an estimate and not a commitment.

2 major points, 1. don't suggest anything let them make the decision. 2. Follow their instructions as far as possible and don't finish early.

In other words if they want you to leave stuff in - do so - but make sure both sides know what you are taking. If they want you to take everything then make sure they arrange contact so you can advise if you still won't complete and what they want to happen at that point. At worst make sure the plan is to make contact 1 hour before you finish.

If you do happen to finish early don't walk out the office, if it's far too early ask if there's anything they'd like you to do as you have a bit of spare time, it sucks but it saves your job.
