Working your Holidays.

Just wondering if when you have your 3 week summer break is it possible to work some of it and essentially get double time? Meaning paid holiday plus working that holiday?

Any info greatly appreciated

The Way Forward agreement expressly forbids attending whilst on annual leave.
However it would be naïve to deny it goes on.

I'm not sure how it continues since it would surely set up a clash on the psp system.

I asked the exact same question of a dom who permits it he said its easy just put said postie down for annual leave the previous week on psp simply by passes the clash. Psp is not compared to rcs so it won't get flagged up anywhere

Not really bothered how they get round it but why is it not flagged up through ir process as its breaking an agreement or do reps do it themselves so are quite happy to ignore this agreement. As managers seem happy to ignore this agreement then I will have 15 days off sick and ignore the attendance agreement to avoid being put on a prompt 1.

It goes on in our office. If you are part time still after six years waiting for the illusive full time contract that reflects the hours you actually work, it is very tempting and management are sometimes are more than happy to bend the rules. The reps turn a blind eye (to mostly everything apart from their own patch).

Under no circumstances can you work your annual leave and get paid for it you can only cancel a week and have the days owed to you as holidays but I'm not surprised they do it in some places as the amount of fiddling the figures is shocking

IIRC our hourly rate drops to below the usual rate beyond 50 hours. So if you worked your week off and were full time your 39 hours OT would be added to your 39 hour annual leave, taking you above 50 hours. I have done this once or twice but only work one day of the week. In principle I refuse to accept a below regular rate when I am digging them out.

we have the usual office creep coming in for 2 hours a day to complete the specials whilst on his holiday ......

so he comes in at 5:30 to unlock and goes home at 7:30 but is getting a day back.......

so do the sums ..... the Muppet is ruining a weeks holiday to suck up to the manager and is only getting a day back
