WCM and Yorks

Yet another bright idea! Was told today that from Monday, no yorks are allowed in the office and only to be used when you have tied up and ready to load up and go. Is this common practice in other offices?

All large packets will now be left on floor by your work frame, surely causing more hazards.

At the moment, no yorks are blocking fire exits and/or causing an obstruction in the office. So why can't we use a York to store the large packets etc? Hasn't been an issue for the past 17 years.

The powers that be are hell bent on making this job as difficult as possible.

OK so what happens to all the delivery bags that we use on a daily basis? The inference from this diktat is that they would have to be left in the back of the van overnight (I personally like to clear the van and do a bag check as well) OR stored underneath frame ready for next day (I guess that will also be a no-no) rather than stacked neatly out of the way in a York next to your fitting (if room allows). I rank the following in terms of H&S hazards - StrapEx (anywhere), Parcels (left by frame), MailTrays (discarded by frame) and finally Yorks. Difficult not to see a York...

This sounds like an " indoor revision" rather than WCM to me mate, speak to your Rep's and see what has been agreed, saying that there should have been involvement in this process??
