Has royal mail stopped or limited referals to occupational health,
been asking for a referal for nearly 2 months now and manager is saying that all referals are getting denied, told him my doctor has advised me to go on light duties or go on sick for 3 weeks to rest the injury, i don't really want to do either and have been struggleing these last couple of month back at docs next week and if he mentions going on sick i think i might take him up on it now,

Re: Referals
no not stopped or limited, manager probably realises you are unfit to work and thinks when you speak to oh assist they will recommend time off and thats what he is trying to avoid

Re: Referrals
Is it also RM policy to now send the initial "sorry you're sick etc" letter by Special Delivery? Maybe there is a good reason but, on the face of it, just seems like more intimidatory tactics.

Re: Referals
thought this was the case, one of my work mates has been off with virus that makes her dizzy so much so she had to go home and spent a 2 weeks off havin to get the doc out coz she couldn't walk up the stairs etc, boss on the phone constanly to her to get her back, he talked her into coming back and she still not right and he hasn't requested an OH appointment even tho she's asked for one,
he spoke to me yesterday only because he was givin out the specails, asked if id seen my doctor, even tho iv told him on numerous times what my doctor had said weeks before and thats why i was after a referal, obvs he hasn't listen to a word iv said in the last couple of months, said he would sort it out yesterday, and guess what he never even spoke to me today,

Put your request in writing, email would be good as you can then copy in your Rep.
RM cannot refuse a referral.

Re: Referals
if you've asked for a referal and gottten nowhere take out a grievance against your lino or whoever you made the request with but first email them asking again for a referal.
