If your manager reads that and recognises you from your posts, you might be having more time off than you bargained for.
And you'll have to ask Teebs to change you to Ex RM.

I don't people have been sacked for posting on here, and for false sickness. This just makes it a lot easier.

To the OP put the request in writing, and they must respond. If they don't refuse or confirm by at least the length of the holiday, before you take it, then they can't cancel it. Thats the law.

For a weeks holiday in law you have to give a minimum of 2 weeks notice, if they refuse or cancel then they must do so 1 week before.

No offence maybe but they can, and have locally cited such stuff as "Bringing Royal Mail into disrepute", "losing trust in the employee", misconduct (with Gross misconduct if you carried out your joke.

Once you publically state you are going to take an action against RMs rules and regulations then, even if you don't actually do it, you are opening yourself to all sorts of possible action.

Check the link in my post - its not exactly the same as your case but it is similar and the OP has not been back on here so I can only sumise she was dismissed.

But you have to be identified first, not suspected... Like looking for a needle in a haystack these days as there are so many of us being abused by Management.

Wrong - it isn't a criminal trial - if a manager takes action all they have to do at an ET is prove that the action they took at the time was reasonable given the information available. So if they can make a reasonable assumption, perhaps based on previous posts, that a person posting on here is the person they suspect then yes they can take any reasonable action.

I am not doing this to scare people, or stop them posting, but to warn everyone. People have to wake up you have an implied right of free speech, but there are limitations on it. Bringing your employer into disrepute or posting about actions that break your contract of employment can be seen as act of free speech, but they can also be seen as damaging the employers reputation, which isn't a protected right. Indeed in the worst case it could be seen as libellous.

As an exercise I've looked back someones previous posts here is what I have gleaned from them. Last year around May they were on light duties, they had a dispute and the CWU sorted it out. They might have had a revision back in august and had to spell out Omibare Fanny Alika slowly to a manager. They also have an exemption from wearing RM issue footwear because of disc problems. Now hopefully some of those details, if not all are incorrect and planted to put people off the scent. But you can see how easy it is to get a picture of people by what they post on here.

NB I also checked to see if they had any contentious posts that could land them in it, I didn't spot any and that's why I used them as an example. If you prefer I can remove this post after you have read it.

The acid test is this:
Would you say to your manager - I'm going sick next week because I am owed a weeks holiday?

If you wouldn't say that to their face, then you shouldn't post it on here.

Signed for my OT today, 45mins instead of 2hrs 45 mins, Dom refusing extended unless less told before, ( Like I'm Psychic ) despite my doing one bag on recovery for bailing partner and given all the rehabs to work with. Told Dom to face, no pay, not one minute extended will ever be done by myself again. Dom said ok I pay, then hasn't. Depressed now, could last a while. But not-one more minute of my time from now on.
