The latest phase of the Together for Growth programme starts this week. Delivery line managers, work area managers, distribution managers and union representatives where applicable will begin their Together for Growth journey as the first of 168 events begin across the country.

This is the final stage of the programme. It includes three modules spread across a nine-week period. The programme is set in the context of the business with real day-to-day Royal Mail scenarios. The learning is hands-on and interactive.

Feedback on the programme to date has been extremely positive, 82% of delegates at module 3 said they would recommend the course to their colleagues. It has been designed to support the Agenda for Growth agreement, improve working relationships, increase the pace and agility of change and improve managers’ ability to communicate and engage with their teams.

If you have been invited to the programme, please ensure you attend your scheduled event.

Look out for more information on the programme soon.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Was it the union representatives who were the 18% of delegates who would not recommend the course to their colleagues?

Still not seen any sign of growth since this all began. It's doom and gloom from the top down.

IT is simple. If we can't compete in UK, there should be international market to compete and can use Royal Mail's expertise. It is a global market.

As a union rep I will once again decline attending this ridiculous course did the first phase of together for growth I'm not interested in these courses.I became a union rep to help members of the union not cosy up to managers now I know we have to work closely with managers but for me these courses are a step to far.

All lip service. There will always be budget and target agenda's from upper management so they will never change.
This is all bullcrap. Been on all three phases. All a bit theatrical and done by people with no experience of the way RM works.
The most interesting bit is the part about what the competition are and how much of the market they share. The rest is patronising rubbish.
Whatever happens RM management resort to type.
Waste of everybody's time and bloody expensive to boot.

Going through our fix it revision now after fours years of failure and they are still trying the same old tricks. f***** joke all of it.
Always be one step ahead, play their game but be wiser. Revenge is sweet.

The problem now being is that now of course the 3 modules have been completed and seen within it's circles as a 'success' I'd imagine there will be rollouts from the programs with little impact from elsewhere.

Interesting qoute - no experience of the way RM works - I think is pinpoint to everything that happens on a daily basis.

It's not so much how it works, it's how it operates. It still operates as a letters business trying to become a parcels company.

All the while we have DO's with large walks, pushed staff huge staff sickness /absent levels and really a lack of transparency within the business I find it hard to see that without directly looking and changing this pivotal function that it can look at the future running through meadows.

At the same time staff need clamping down on, from the early runners to the lazy arses, every DO has these but it's how it's managed that is key.

RM/CWU have a long way to go, every WTL i see contains the words 'We and 'Must' in virtually every sentence. It's going to take a long hard fix and a review of the entire business has to be drawn instead of these huddle groups which try and thrash out the smaller problems and forcefeed them into the rest of the workforce.

A key statement from this is:....improve working relationships, increase the pace and agility of change....

Question is, on who's terms ? RM's 'We and 'Must' is too commonplace. - Engagement, Motivation and Communication hold the real values.
