Packets on an HCT duty.

had a small discussion today with the packet driver about what size packets I am supposed to take in an HCT post revision.

is there any documentation available for this as today was very heavy packet wise and of course is going to get heavier and heavier and it will get to the stage that I will have all packets and no mail in my HCT

Good question!

I thought there was a guide on the frame - a metal plate with a hole placed over the standard frame. The problem is that it does not specify weight or even depth just length and breadth.

The problem is when you get many smaller half shoe-sized boxes and other smaller ones; your HCT will be filled up in no time. On busy days, our HCT posties make 2 trips: most are reasonably close to the office.

There was a guide/tool for this. We had one pre-revision for about a day. Then one of the packet drivers borrowed it and surprisingly it got lost!

If it fits in the HCT, it goes in the HCT.
If it means you can't complete then it means you can't complete.

We have one of those! Funny thing is the HCT duties claim not to be able to see it even though it is on a hook above the packet drivers york which they empty their packet bags on to!!

Come on, then you can fill your HCT with just about 8 or so Amazon oversized or other similar packets and that should be your lot.

A lot of things will fit in an HCT - even an infant or one our managers who is pint-sized

Great idea. Put one very large packet in your HTC and leave everything else out!

Go in prep enough to last till your time if there's no room or you think yur going to go over INSTRUCTION let manager do the worrying

We had a template in our office when the revisions first came in.

Nobody knew what it was. Especially the length template on the side.

Then we found out, and suddenly 'Len' was our best mate.

Manager removed Len from the office within about 3 days of our using it.

Also depends who your driver is - ive had my normal driver take stuff thats quite small to help me out as he has the time and goes past later that day anyway - and ive had cover drivers who wont take the stuff the size of green recycling tubs!
