No he can't do that. He is trying it on, he wants you to find your own way there so he doesn't have to basically !

Its up to them to provide you with transport to different offices.

Your rep seems to be doing a good job here, just make sure that you are leaving your do at your start time and arriving back at your do for your finishing time, manager will soon get sick of it and move someone else or stop loaning people out due to the hassle

This one's come up quite a few times.

As the posters above have said your Dom CAN'T force you to use your own vehicle. Check your policy. Almost certainly you won't be insured as it will classed as business use. My car insurance (and most these days) clearly state: For use to and from your USUAL PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. If you are working at a different office, that is not your usual place of employment. If you were to have a prang, you would not be insured in your own vehicle. They either give you a van or somebody has to ferry you to and back from the other office.

You don't have to give any justification to your manager about your partner needing the car etc etc. He's trying it on. You are entitled to sign on at your own office at your usual time and sign off at your usual time at your own office.

I dug my heels in a couple of years ago when they tried to send me to another office. As is the case they got a new lad who hadn't been there long. Usual thing, he was nervous about refusing to go and just went along with the request.

With the removal of permission to use Private Cars on Delivery as part of the AFG agreement, no OPG, even with courier insurance can use their own cars on delivery.

If you have business use and you DON'T use it to convey ANY mail then you should be covered - and you can claim mileage as well (bet they didn't tell you that)
