if its an emergency call an ambulance but it would cover things like cuts on fingers . the first aid kits would go missing has we used to have them in vans

I think it shud be essential to have bandages etc if your cut etc while u wait for emergency services , but wat cud we do so it doesnt cost us and its the company paying for it

That's the problem though, many of our esteemed colleagues don''t bother with the full checks, would just be another thing ignored until it's needed(and thus not there). Unless other offices are better resourced than those I've been in.

To be fair it's nothing to do with resources,if Bob is driving the van with Sue then there is 2 to check straightaway.

And yes I know that there is a time issue peeps,I mean at times I have to ignore loads of s**t to finish me lapsing.

As far as I know, all the vans at our DO have first aid boxes.
They come in handy for cuts to fingers from sharp edges and the like. We mainly use the steri-wipes and the plasters, and if you inform a first aider at the office what you've used they replenish the box from their stock.

Thought about this the other day when I cut my finger on one of those sharp letterboxes, blood pissing out all over the mail, wouldn't stop for about half an hour! If only I'd had a plaster...

Shouldn't be in the van - I don't see the van for two hours during my duty. We should all be issued with some kind of "bum bag" which should have a section with some plasters, a bandage, and a sachet of antiseptic cream. Another section ought to hold 739's, "sorry we posted your mail next door" cards, spare pens, dog peg and a card with all the useful telephone numbers on. That way everything we need is with us all the time and it's a personal responsibility that you have it with you and replenished as needed.

Yep,or something that can easily be put in/on our trolleys as well for the trolley peeps.
