19.2% "turn out" on voting. If you ask me that's a poor turn out.
I'm just making an observation on the figures supplied but is it apathy or don't people care about who they want in office? :hmmmm

The problem with any election, be it for Union officials or Government, is that all parties are perceived to be the same and therefore it becomes irrelevant who wins.
Status Quo (not Rick Parfitt et al) will continue.

All turn outs include abstentions and spoilt votes.
Think the vote was a cock up. All ballots on same returnable form. Some voted for Gen Sec but didnt vote for EC as may not have known the candidates or had one from their area. I know there was one of the elections where our branch recommended so many candidates and it was pointed out that you could only vote for a max of so many.
Some papers were prob already on their way destined for the "spoilt" pile

Also i think a lot of people were probably not impressed by any candidate.
It always bad from when a Deputy takes on the current leader and the campaign is full of sniping.
If you're unhappy with leadership then be vocal over the years. Don't sit and say nothing until you're standing.
DW was very quiet over the years if he felt the union was being taken in the wrong direction

Not for those elected but for those who voted it is, they are obviously in the minor minority judging from the number of overall ballots returned. :cuppa
