Hi all! New on here and hoping for some info... Been working as a postie in Doncaster area for 9 years. Will be moving to Somercotes Derbyshire in the near future, well as soon as I can sort a job. Have found Ripley delivery office is recruiting. Asked my manager about a transfer, seemed a bit unsure as to procedure. Suggested I apply for the position as if I'm a new starter, which I've done. Also to find out who the manager of the Ripley office is so he can email them to discuss transfer. Does anyone on here Know who the manager at Ripley is? and there email address? Has anyone else managed a successful transfer...

The best thing to do would be to go to Ripley office and speak to the Dom in person.

It is unlikely you will be offered full time hours so being prepared to accept part time hours would make it easier.

As most offices seem short staffed the new Dom would probably be keen to take you, but your current Dom may be reluctant to let you go as it may leave him short handed.

If you get offered a transfer make sure you get it confirmed in writing from HR before you make any plans.

Thanks. Part time hours not a problem, all ready on part time contract plus overtime. Happy to visit dom in Ripley...if there actually there. Our dom is based in the mail centre in Doncaster and visits subs as and when... Do we Know if Ripley dom is based in Ripley and likely to be there in the morning?

If moving to Somercotes why don't you try Alfreton as well as Ripley? Doms at both offices are not too bad so give them a phone call.

Will try giving Alfreton a ring, would prefer to Ripley as just up road. Only applied to Ripley as a it said they were recruiting there on job site.
