The job is good, but you are right - manager and rep are one and the same thing in my place and both seem hell bent on wrecking your day!

So it's not all bad now,is it? There's hope for Royal Mail management yet,slim hope,but hope nonetheless. I remain an eternal optimist. However,an optimist,is a pessimist,without full recourse to the facts.

The facts are that prior to the Falklands being invaded, Thatcher removed the naval protection which had been consistently covering the Falklands Islanders from such an event. Had that protection been kept in place there would have been no invasion and no Falklands war. She took the credit for a problem her and her government created. As for the Iraq War, Tony Blair received major support from the Tory Party in the decisions that he took. It is fair to say that those decisions have since been acknowledged to be wrong, but it did remove a tyrant who had murdered far more of his own people than the number killed during the Iraq War.

The Belgrano is a totally justifiable sinking from a Military perspective, warnings have already been given that any enemy ships sailing in the high seas outside the exclusion zone is fair game.

The Belgrano sinking was a propaganda deal, nothing to do with military necessity, It was a slow old tub, our subs could have tailed it all day long without breaking sweat and if it had come anywhere near our ships they could have opened it up easier than a tin of beans and sent it to the bottom.

All's fair in love and war I suppose and I don't particularly feel it's any more barbaric than any other act of pointless "see who can piss the highest" war-mongering but let's not pretend it was a "necessity" or any more justifiable than the Argies fireboming the Welsh Guards before they could even get off the ship in San Carlos, It was all in most respects completely unnecessary killing of fellow peeps.
