Tracked WTF is going on?
Our Doms policy on tracked items seems to be changing weekly, Last week scanned all undelivered tracked as 'safeplace' and returned them too callers office. Now, no doorstep scan, bring back to office to be delivered later apparently, and at the cost of a lot of overtime. Will probably revert back too try a neighbour after April 1st. Dom banging on about the tax year.
Was told last week on here that phoney safeplace is a no no, what about no doorstep scan?
Before I decide what to do, is this national policy like our dom told full office this morning.

dom banging on about tax year as thats what coincides with his results for bonus
as for no doorstep scan thats also a no no, what has probably happened is that somone has reported him or your area for trying the safeplace scan to moya hence why its rapidly been withdrawn, now he is trying another trick to fiddle the figures again, so i would suggest another email to moya about this new method and that should sort it out,

Re: Tracked WTF is going on?
well we have been told NOT to scan if we don't get an answer at the recipients door, or a neighbour, and this being the case to then take it back to the office unscanned for someone to take it out and try again later on overtime.zx135 wrote:dom banging on about tax year as thats what coincides with his results for bonus

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

its a TRACKED service that means it gets scanned when something like a delivery gets attempted, dom is not wanting it scanned at the doorstep as a delivery attempt as that hits his first time delivery target, he may come up with some rubbish about it because it is going to be attempted later in the day and not wanting to confuse the customer but thats also bollocks as it does not show as being available for collection back at the DO till its scanned back into the locker

Re: Tracked WTF is going on?
well this is it. they are obsessed with 'delivery first time' and will try anything to achieve their target figures. he has us in the middle of the floor every day stating which figure we hit the previous day. he hates us bringing tracked back so this is their latest idea. he must be getting his arse kicked about the unreached targets. union have said nowt though.

Re: Tracked WTF is going on?
the only way they keep on about % figures is self interest
over 90% and they trigger bonus improvements for themselves out of your work
739 all the way dont let the barstewards get rich with your contribution
WHERES OUR BONUS scheme cwu

Re: Tracked WTF is going on?
Am I alone here on this site in not being hassled about tracked? I know we're a bit backward out here in the sticks of Norfolk but I cover a number of offices as a reserve over a range of about 50 miles across them and I've never once been questioned in any of them about bringing a tracked item back or not. So long as an item can be put on the right shelf in the cage that's all they care about, same as ever. Do our DOMs not care about these bonuses or have they not been told about them. Something fishy...

Re: Tracked WTF is going on?
Still getting hassled every week down here in London......
The idiot comes round with a clipboard with a list of how many returns each walk had the previous week
Then proceeds to explain how important it is to get rid of them 1st time and we must try neighbours over the other side of the road, some people don't talk to next door let alone over the road, wont be long before they say we can leave it with the cat

Re: Tracked WTF is going on?
In my relatively short experience. Most tracked and parcels go to the same customers day in day out time and time again.
Would it really be so hard for the DOM if he's so concerned with his figures, to make contact with these people, get a number and arrange convenient delivery times on 0/time. Instead of hassling poor posties every day. Just an idea.
