Our office has had no union rep for months now,is this normal?

) But someone has to volunteer for there to a rep in a Unit, if there isn't one then the relevant Area and Branch Reps should assist.

I think what puts a lot of Posties off, with being the Union Rep, is not the head to head with the Managers. It's having to deal with a lot of the Petty Complaints from the same people all the time.
Fair enough if someones got a "Genuine" problem, but when it's "Someone keeps parking in my Parking space"..... " I get Dog s**t on the wheels of my LWT and RM don't do anything about it"! FFS It's no wonder a lot of Posties can't be bothered with the hassle.
The good news is your looking at this site 2pints, which will often tell you more about your employment rights than many Union Reps. If you haven't got a Rep just fight your own corner and try to educate the other Posties in your Office. Good Luck!
