good Friday clawback?

Our Dom has said that people who have a day of during the good Friday week need to make up some hours on another day because of the longs and shorts we are on. In my case I'm off Monday and he says I need to start half an hour earlier on the Saturday, I've never been told this before and wonder if he's correct or trying it on. Any help appreciated

So are they cancelling everyone's day off to ensure that they work their full contract. If they are asking people to work their scheduled daily hours then no clawback is required.

The DOM is saying that those that have a day off except for the bank holidays owe him hours. Its a spurious assertion.

I take it you mean getting paid for the day in luie rather than taking it as annual leave later in the year?

Converting your annual leave entitlement into hours then looking at it that way the dom is actually technically correct as at end of year you would have had an extra hour or so annual leave as the friday would have creditted you more time off than a monday bank holiday. However our annual leave is not in hours it is in days so the fact that it's a longer or shorter day off is irrelevant

No as there is no need for an agreement covering it, your holiday entitlement in your contract is days not hours that's all you need to show him. If he pushes it point out that monday is a shorter day and as such the other 7 bank holidays being Mondays he owes you hours for each of them you have had off and you want it all back dated till when the pay and mod agreement came in, bet he changes his tune then

Just go in at your normal start time and finish at your normal finish time. There is sod all he can do about it.
