Just throwing it out there,there is obviously a bit of Beef going on between him and Billy,and also Ward and HQ,can't be good for the union to have 2 who can not only not work together as the top 2,but also the actual HQ?(Ward)

It has become clear to me and many others in recent weeks that the opposing campaign is relying on negative messages and some unacceptable tactics as the vote approaches.
We have also seen CWU Headquarters machinery being used to publicise the General Secretary’s campaign.

Dave has the support of the vast majority of Branch"s from Scotland , North East , North Wales , North West , Midlands , South Central , South Wales , Northern Ireland , South West , Anglia , South East and London. It is simply being negative to suggest it is just London.

It is clear all the reports that we are getting is that Dave is the candidate Branch's and members want. This unions struggles won't just be in the negotiating arena with the various employees but in the political arena which we have not punched our weight in.

Turn out for the last NEC Elections was just 13%. The turn out for the John Keggie and Dave Ward was 38% and that was a big ballot. Thatcher bought in ballots to home address because turns out would be low. My guess this will be higher than any in recent years.

Seriously is any ordinary member outside of the London conurbation remotely interested in the result. Most Branch officials will choose DW just as a matter of course but they aren't representative of the membership. I would suggest it will be the lowest turnout of any election and in the great scheme of things there are probably fewer members than at any other time. The CWU is a busted flush as far as the members are concerned and it's raison d'etre is merely to remain sat at the table behaving like the proverbial nodding dog on the parcel shelf of a clapped out ford fiesta.
