With the CWU, we’re making changes to the role of the Workplace Coach

Last year, we agreed with the CWU to make changes to the role of the Workplace Coach in Delivery and Collections.
Both Royal Mail and the CWU are committed to a programme of improved training and support for all employees, supported by Workplace Coaches.
Role details
The revised role of the Workplace Coach is to welcome and induct new employees, and provide coaching and support for existing employees, through a consistent method of training and coaching.
Existing coaches have started to receive an introductory letter and guide to their revised role at their home address. This includes a section on coaches’ daily, weekly and monthly tasks which will help coaches and their managers to structure their work.
Supporting coaches
All coaches will be invited to a refresher training course to help them understand their new role and some of the new coaching lessons. Each delivery sector will also host a series of quarterly network meetings for Workplace Coaches.

MRM:Changes to the role of the Workplace Coach
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Be interested to know exactly what those daily, weekly and monthly tasks are actually meant to be now.
In my DO they simply take new starters out on delivery for 2-3 days and that's it.
Haven't had a new starter in years so it's easy money.

In our office they do absolutely nothing. One of them can't sort. Another got the coaching job and 6 months later still didn't know how to use a PDA. The 3 of them haven't trained anyone between them. Yet another epic waste of money by RM.
