Waysider duties

Any offices got them, how do they work? Been told our 2 potential wayside duties have to meet van driver at first delivery point and start delivery there... Never even heard of them before.

Waysider duties were pretty common when I started 25 years ago. There was a bout 5, all women who had the mail delivered to their home and they delivered from there but over the years they dwindled and there hasn't been one since the original revision in 2010 and the advent of P&L. Waysiders never came to the office and handed any work in to the nearest PO and they didn't take specials. Of course with the new part time ratio there is every possibility that they could be resurrected especially with a P&L vehicle in most areas to provide support.

If you are employed to work in any particular office then that is where you start at your official start time, it is up to RM to accelerate you to your 1st delivery point and pick you up again all within your contracted hours
