Redundancy order and who they want to get rid of?

Im a part time postie on a 25hr contract. Ive been employed for 2 years so im still considered one of the new kids on the block. There are three other part timers who started after me but are on temp contracts,Im a permament. Anyway ive been over hearing the some of the fulltimers who had ive been offered voluntary redendancy so questions are what if they refuse? Who do royal mail then try and get rid of and are my fellow temps under threat first of all?

No, the plan is to offer to vr to full time only and they will get enough folk to take it, 12 weeks pilon is the carrot so don't worry ur jobs should be ok, they seem to be reducing the full time headcount and replace them with 24/25 hour contracts so it's indoor work they're really reducing,

Yes on top of any vr payment and ur shares as well

Sorry for hijacking this thread,

Is VR done purely on seniority or can royal pick and choose who they want to leave the business,
Can RM block you from leaving if you are a driver? Is that legal?

The agreement on VRs is by simple seniority.

Not sure on the legality of RM Blocking you, if they have threatened it then its best to get in touch with your branch and get their guidance.

I'm similar to you, perm but 32.5 after 2+ years, and I've have seen 2 or 3 old-timers go just in those 2 years. Every year they tannoy the VR bull to the office and there is a fight to get signed-up for it. The someone's long-term sick/injured, someone leaves or someone retires and then the VR volunteers are always disappointed.
You'll be the LAST to go! You're cheap and probably don't answer the DIMs back.....
