Moya's My View:The Employee Survey is important

In this month’s Courier Moya Greene talks about the importance of our Employee Survey in her ‘My View’ column.
Moya says: ‘Last year, 85% of you made the time and effort to take part. That is a response rate that would delight any company.
‘Please do the same or better this year. Please tell us what you think and how you feel.’
Taking action
‘Your feedback is taken very seriously and we do act upon your comments. Acting on what
you’ve said is essential. I’m pleased we’ve made progress.
‘For example, you said you wanted to be more involved in decisions that affect you at work.
In the past year, there has been more union involvement across the business as the Agenda for
Growth agreement has been embedded.
‘This includes the introduction of mediators, a joint review of engagement activity and the joint
agreement on growth, efficiency and incentive arrangements.
‘Please ensure your voice is heard by making the most of the annual Employee Survey.’

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Every year we get bullied into filling this out. I refused last year because nothing ever comes from it, I said this and was promised that we would get local feedback last year....................still waiting. Been with RM nearly 8 years, had feedback once, that was when a relief manager was there so it didn't impinge on her .I would suggest If its good news, then you get feedback, if its bad news for Dom then nothing.

our DOM reckons its been kicked into touch,....he says all the managers that were on it have been moved to other jobs/posts.....you wouldn't think it by the courier. unless its just to piss us off, or they don't want to admit it was a total waste of money.

Show me one change that has happened as a result of HYS that has been to the sole benefit of OPGs, rather than being something that saves RM money and/or passes the buck to us as far as responsibility goes!
Propaganda, just like the The Courier.

The unused ones are filled in by linos to balance the scores! So the feedback we always get is "you are all happy and everything is rosy".
Why are lino's paid full-time ??

Re: Moya's My View:The Employee Survey is important
I like the fact that when we do our surveys the lino is often in the room watching us all keeping a watchful eye on those that have a lot of comments to make at the end!!
Comments for 2015 HYS
1. When someone leaves, why are their their duties not put up on the noticeboard?? The seniority thing is a joke if managers just put one of their pals on a certain "cushy" duty indefinitely
2. On busy days when you inform managers that taking out the collapse will take you way over your time; why are they always awkward and difficult if you don't want to claim the delivery excess?? Does it not affect the quality of service targets if some of the mail does not get delivered??

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: Moya's My View:The Employee Survey is important
We're always told we HAVE to fill it in in the room while they watch. Our rep says we can take it home, fill out and post back to Mori - Ipsos- whoever's doing it. Any official clarification on this ?
