Voluntary Redundancy.
I am waiting to hear whether or not I have been given Voluntary Redundnancy. However, it looks like I may be away on holiday when the forms arrive. How much time will I be given to reply to the forms. Will I lose the VR if I am not there to sign on the dotted line immediately? Thanks in advance.

Re: Voluntary Redundancy.
When I was given VR in 2013 I was given 14 days to reply to the formal VR offer letter. I think that is still what happens.

I am on holiday for more than 3 weeks. If the forms arrive while I am away I will not be able to sign them within 2 weeks. Can I ask for an extension before I go on holiday?

Re: Voluntary Redundancy.
You would be better calling HR in Sheffield as it's unlikely anyone on here (most still serving) will have any idea about extending the notice period.

Re: Voluntary Redundancy.
When I got VR the letter was sent from HR Services, AS20, Rowlkand Hill House, CHESTERFIELD, Derbyshire, S49 1HQ.
Their telephone No is/was 0845 6060603.
I think meercat is right, best to ring them to find out.
btw The last line of the offer letter said "The offer will be open until 16.04.2013, after this date the offer will expire."
It was dated 2/4/13, and I don't think I received it until a couple of days later, so even if the signed copy only took one day to be delivered it meant in reality I only had 11 days in which to return it.

Re: Voluntary Redundancy.
Chesterfield it is, just looked it up on google maps it's a bit nicer there than down-town Sheffield that's for sure. No disrespect to Sheffield ofcourse.
You know metalman they won't be checking your signature (not closely) so if there is someone around who can fill in the form for you and approximate your sig it would be OK. It's good enough for us at the door with Signed Fors when the customer is out ;)
