I would imagine that, from a legal point of view, that if a postie slagged off someone then the union itself could be found liable for it given that it supplied the forum with which to air the view in the first place. Have you heard the news of late where a guy slagged off a football manager of a club on their own forum and they're now taking him and the forum owner to court. IP addresses can be tracked and traced.bri wrote:Do you know why?taxi4leighton wrote:union website had its own message room but closed it

Well it coincided with union elections and I imagine there was a feeling that there may undue influence exerted. There was and generally is certain criticism about union officers justified or not. As I recall there was a bit of a furore over certain pension payments made but I don't remember who for. I think they are afraid of offices communicating information freely - and for the communication union that in itself is a failing.bri wrote:Do you know why?taxi4leighton wrote:union website had its own message room but closed it

They seem to want to stand aside from the nitty gritty a bit like the detail for the flexible working - and as we all know the devil is in the detail.
