Only part time contracts?

Just a simple question. Are new recruits only offered a part time contract or can anybody still join on full time?

Yes, the days of getting a FT contract as a new starter are long gone and I doubt if they will ever return.

they may of course get made up to FT in time when fulltimers leave the business etc.

Took me six years to get FT,thanks to our two reps who did a fantastic job & got a high percentage of part timers increased hours in our office.

Having said that,I have read posts on here from people who have over ten years service & still cannot get the elusive hours.

New starters getting full time hours,more chance of Moya doing park & loop.

Not always the case I got full time hours 2 months after starting part time, it can happen, I regret leaving my job big time now though life was a lot easier just being a postman 2 days a week

Our revision came in about 6 weeks ago and a few part timers were made full time after only a couple months service.

As with everything, a certain amount of luck is required

Full timers have since left or retired but no one else has had their hours increased to FT. Some offices work differently to others, so if your office is like mine and you don't think you'll get the hours, look for a transfer.

My office is half part time and half full time and some days there are not enough full timers to do the sorting and we're all held up and when they go eventually they will have to make up some part timers to do that work, or will they?

I've just been made F/T after being P/T for 2 years so you don't necessarily have to wait years on end.
