Royal Mail offering VR with pay in lieu

Royal Mail have written to the CWU saying that anyone who signs up for VR with a union agreement by the 27th March 2015 will be given pilon ie they will be paid their notice period but will not have to attend work.

The CWU are likeli to reach agreement on this next week. In the main this will apply to where competition has reduced workload and that when an office does an effierency revision there is going to be reduction in either full time duties or duties per say.

Well there you go, so much for how expensive it was going to be. As for the CWU agreeing, exactly what would they do to stop it? I don't know why people think that the CWU hasn't been outplayed and sidelined, RM offer the VR to the employee with enhanced rates and they are going to take it regardless of what the CWU say or do. Oh and it's likely, efficiency and per se and no I don't have a wealth of experience in reading agreements and negotiating

So according to this I'd get less than 10 grand ? I'm 42 with 16 years service ? I'd get double that on ihr

Hi can anyone confirm this 100% correct. So someone with 40 years service would get 60 weeks pay.
Would that be it or is there other things to top it up because I was under lmpression it was 2 years wages.

According to the mtsf2 ready reckoner you would get 61.875 weeks VR payment.
