10 days sick ?

Just been to the doctors who has gave me 10 days sick note but my manager is asking me to come in on light duties ie indoor work,do I have to do in ?

It's not a sick note mate, it's a fit for work note detailing what you can or cannot do. If however they can accommodate you with indoor work that will not increase your injury, illness or welfare then i'm afraid that this is acceptable in today's legislation.

Your Doctors signed you off so surely that overrides your manager. What is your sickness? Is it injury?

If your in too much pain then do not let your manager force you into work. You have seen the Doctor and you have a sick note for 10 days then if you need use it then use it.

I went sick on Tuesday but could only get a appointment today where I was given a 10 day sick note now my manager is asking me to come in on Saturday to see if I can come in to prep and do light duties WTF is that all about

is your manager a qualified doctor? NO, do what your doctor has recommended, never take your health for granted

Have you asked for an ATOS referral? (Or OH Assist or whatever it is called)
Before returning to work on any sort of light duties, you should have a proper rehabilitation plan in place agreed with you, your manager and occupational health.
Then everyone will be know what can be expected of you and a rough timescale for you to return to full duties.

This has been over complicated! Forget Atos forget everything said on here apart from this...... You have a sick note from Doctor for 10 days so all you have to tell your manager is that your shoulder is still hurting and that your unable to do light duties. That's if your shoulder is still causing your pain. End of chat.

And in 10 days time?
Does the doctor know what a postman does? Will he deem him fit to return to full duties in 10 days time?
From my experience of joint injuries, I think it is unlikely, so it would be better to be proactive now and request the referral, rather than just refuse to return to work.
