Sick procedure

I only phoned in this morning saying I couldn't come in and have had a few missed calls today from them and a letter through the door explaining I have to maintain contact etc etc blah blah blah. IS this normal procedure for management to follow on the first day of sickness? I can't remember having all this happen on the first day before

yes it normal to get the letter, not sure why theyre calling so often, but if you answered the 1st time i doubt theyd have called again

I was recovering in bed when they called. I phoned them in the morning explaining I wouldn't be in and I would phone them again tomorrow morning to update them.

Sorry to sort of hijack this thread but its on the same subject,,i was wondering what level of sick you can have before going onto various stages.

up to 3 seperate absences or 13 days total, anything more than that usually triggers 1st stage warning

Attendance Review 1 Prompt 4 absences or 14 days in a 12 month period
Attendance Review 2 Prompt 2 absences or 10 days in the next 6 months following an attendance review 1 formal notification
Consideration of dismissal prompt 2 absences or 10 days in the next 6 months following an attendance review 2 formal notification

Accidents on duty are normally discounted.
