Dear Colleagues
SCOTTISH LABOUR PARTY LEADER AND DEPUTY LEADER ELECTION RESULTS
The result of the Scottish Labour Party Leader and Deputy Leader election was announced at a special election event in Glasgow on Saturday 13th December 2014.
The union was represented at this event by Joe Malone, PFMC Chair, Andy Kerr DGS (T&FS) and CWU Labour Party NEC member, John Brown, Scottish Regional Secretary.
The CWU made nominations and provided support to Neil Findlay MSP for Leader and Katy Clark MP as Deputy Leader. Unfortunately, both candidates were unsuccessful albeit that they received a good level of support from affiliates.
Jim Murphy MP with an overall vote of 55.77% won the Leader contest. Neil Findlay MSP received 34.99% of the overall vote and Sarah Boyack MSP 9.24% of the overall vote.
Kezia Dugdale MSP was elected Deputy Leader with 62.89% of the overall vote. Katy Clark MP received 37.11% of the overall vote.
The full results are attached for your information. The CWU result as produced by Electoral Reform Services is also attached - and whilst participation was low (9.5%) - both CWU nominated and recommended candidates received the majority of members' votes.
BILLY HAYES
General Secretary

Re: SCOTTISH LABOUR PARTY LEADER AND DEPUTY LEADER ELECTION
CWU turnout 9.5%
, I wonder if the upcoming CWU elections will surpass that?
