Been off work for a few weeks, seriously unwell, my Drs note says to be off for another 2 wks or so, and my Manager has sent me a letter, requesting an "informal meeting" to attend at the office. This is requested for Tomorrow. This is to discuss a speedy return to work...or something like it. They have said a Union Rep can attend too.
But, mine is on Annual Leave abroad etc.
So, I assume Im withing my Rights to say that I may/will attend when the Union Rep returns to work etc?
This seems reasonable dont you think???

Re: Union Rep on holiday
You don't have to attend meeting if you don't want too. Contact is now a two way thing and agreed with both parties so you can request if you want the dom and rep meet at your house for example. For the time being say the rep is away so you'll be waiting till rep comes back to seek further advise.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
