Post by enzio »

not sure if anyone could help with some advice please :pray

if a opg has had a long term medical condition that rm new about for a few years and they were making changes in the office what should happen to the opg? like if there were no suitable duty ? would they have to take medical retirement ? could they ask to be move to the mail center ? can not go in to details as i know people read this forum in my office ?
any advice would be great the union person in my office is not to approachable with this stuff thinks the opg in question should just leave the job  i think there must be other alternatives.

If someone has a long term medical condition that is covered under the Equality Act then the attention of the planners should be drawn to this when the duties are being planned.
RM has a legal obligation to try to accommodate the disability. Disability trumps seniority so indoor jobs can be considered.
If this isn't possible within the DO, then other jobs within the business should be considered. (MC)
As a last resort IHR should be offered.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

surely the rep should at least advise to take ihr rather than just just leave job with nothing  if no alternative work in do or local mc best to ihr without leaving with nothing.
