Hi all just some advice please I was off sick with a doctors note for a week which run out so I was in work on the Monday ,anyway my Dom said I triggered a stage one because I was over by one day but he included the Sunday the day before I came back but I don't work Sundays and they certainly don't pay me for Sundays can this be right

Yes

its common practice. The best to avoid it is to call in Saturday and say you'll be back to work Monday. Take your rep in with you he may be able to get Sunday discounted but its a longish shot.

Just thinking about Sunday being included when sick say Friday to Tuesday for example, i accept the one absence thing-it makes sense but would it not be correct to claim the Sunday back as A/L or something as you were sick on that rest day..it really is a grey area.

No annual leave is meant to an excused absence on a working day - As sunday in Deliveries is not a working day you can't use it to cover a sick day. Also if you did you'd have to be paid for 6 days that week not 5.

And thats the grey area i am pointing out..if its not a working day or not getting paid for it, how can it be used to increase the absence?
