Royal Mail needs to sort its s**t out!!!!

Royal mail as a business seems to be constantly trying to make savings in the work place! they wouldn't need to make these savings if they pulled in all the lost revenue from PPi mail, the amount of mail that is going through the system unpaid and unchecked is unbelievable! as an RM driver myself I am seeing this on a daily basis, people abusing the PPi system, not providing paperwork, not marking labels up correctly with the correct details, posting ppi mail in post boxes! Royal Mail should really be more careful WHO they are selling this system to as it's been open to abuse for so long who knows how much it's cost the business??

That's probably part of the reason for the parcel scanning trial, if they get to the point where every last item is scanned, then all them problems would hopefully be avoided

The ones that are avoiding payment are usually the ones dropping at Post office counters! these seem to think that somehow it bypasses the system, and probably 9 times out of 10 it does, ppi should only be available to those having a collection in my opinion as this way paperwork can not be overlooked, people who don't have a collection should be on meter as they would still make substantial savings and would have to pay up front meaning no lost revenue, PPi has been abused for too long and the company has probably lost millions due to this and yet the workers pay the price for this by losing hours to make savings!

why do you not keep the ppi mail that you suspect is not being paid for separate and hand it to the revenue protection people in the mc.

I have done on numerous occasions and the same names keep popping up again and again, there has even been cases of customers who have copied other customers ppi labels and passed it on through the system, we can only do so much as driver/collections in the limited time we have to collect it needs dealing with at source and customers having their ppi accounts taken off them if they have been caught offending!

revenue,s job is to make sure all mail is correctly paid for. how come they are so busy. if in doubt mail should be put on hold if no dockets accompany it to make make sure all revenue is protected

Think they are seriously under staffed TBH (no surprise there), when they bought the new smart meters in last year (along with the price changes) we were sending around 3-4 yorks (approx 20,000 letters) of incorrectly priced metered mail everyday day to revenue protection, in the end they told our manager to let it go through as they were swamped

get rid of dead wood managers, we have 3 managers at our DO, trying to think up of things to do to look busy, we are constantly cutback, what if any, have they had done to them ???

I have one firm I pick up from who regularly send much more mail than they pay for.Ive reported it to managers many times even showed one it as he had to do a sa collection and all I get told is red x it and guess whatall they do when it gets to mc is take the red x lable off the york.i also pick up in excess of 30 bags of sealed ppi from post offices.i very much doubt if that is all correct either.
