Courior firms sending you texts

how often have people got texts from rival firms saying
"Your parcel has been delivered and signed for by the CUSTOMER" giving your name, when in fact you are at work or elsewhere.
When in fact it has been dropped off at a neighbours house.
I had this and a parcel of mine had been been taken in by someone in my street and kept the item.
You then ring up the Courior and they say that you signed for it
How can a neighbour be the customer?

It's been obvious (to me at least!) for quite some time that the only way RM can provide a really effective and efficient parcel/pkt delivery service is to completely separate it from letters.

I think it could be done with a neutral impact on jobs and costs, keeping both sides happy. The letters deliveries could be made bigger (i.e 3 walks into 2) as the posties would have extra time without having to keep knocking on, and the postie who delivered the now non-existent 3rd walk delivers all the pkts to the area the 3 walks cover? Obviously rurals would be the exception to this system

I wouldn't be surprised to see RM split into two with the letter and large letter sizes being done by one company (maybe with recorded being axed), with the other company doing parcels (merged in with Tracked). Base option normal delivery with everything trackable, special delivery as an optional extra. I doubt that any MC would have the room to install all the machinery needed to automate the sorting of letters, large letters (machines can be bought that would sort them together and sequence them) and the sorting of parcels. If the business was split into two then certain MCs would deal with certain types, possily each would cover a wider geographical area. An MC covering just letters and large letters wouldn't need to be so big

They might do round my way, because they just leave it on the doorstep under the mat, no matter how big it is.
Presumably they think the local thieves won't notice a 15" high parcel if it's camouflaged by a door mat.
