Delivering DHL Products

Post by Decky Boy »

I was issued today with a parcel (box) with DHL all over it. Asked manager during prep what was going on... and instructed to deliver it ???
There was no "delivered by Royal Mail " sticker on it. Upon delivery I mentioned to customer that I had a DHL packet for him. He was missing this DHL item (since Christmas) and ever so grateful I was supplying it ! ! !

Why do overdue and late DHL items land up in Royal Mail Delivery Offices ?

It was more than likely held back so they could check it was meant for RM.
A whole bunch got through into the RM system that was not meant for us. If it had a CN22 number on, it was meant for RM.

Sounds more like DHL fekked up the delivery and passed it onto RM to deliver, and thereby implying to the customer that "it wasn't our fault it's late, it was delivered to you by RM".

We've had a number of DHL packages of late that appeared in the system with no RM labels or info etc on them, but we're told to deliver them as normal.

We had loads over Christmas (and there is a thread on here somewhere about them too) and we sent them back to the main DO for surcharging

Why do you think RM is so inefficient? Probably because we fail to charge for half the crap we deliver. No one can tell me the massive influx of chinese signed for items is being paid for at signed for rates, the punters aren't paying enough to cover the cost of the postage even if the item was free in most instances. Sick to death of carding bloody plugs (that will probably explode on first use) :arrrghhh

More are in the system again obviously, less to deliver with good reason?

simple thing then with regards to this problem is to kick the problem right up to the top..

Moya wants interaction with us.. then dump the problem on them at the top. I emailed the top brass, and her, directly before xmas about a problem that was reported about in the press , I got a response back from her "team" a week or so later and it had been resolved (Amazon packets..!) I got some "thanks"...

to me
Thank you for writing and for bringing this to my, and my teams, attention.

I appreciate that any bad press should and often is challenged but sadly on this occasion the item referenced in the Scunthorpe article was a Royal Mail item. The pictures that you have very kindly shared are from the incident described in the Gloucestershire Echo which we do know to have been carried and delivered by Amazon.

We have done a great deal to communicate how important it is that we adhere to our delivery standards including – Courier articles, Specials, and WTLL all on the topics of Delivery To Neighbour and the correct completion of the “While you were out” cards. It is absolutely disappointing that on this occasion we have let this customer down. My senior team have received photographic evidence of the failure and that has been shared with the Regional Delivery Director for onward coaching of the individual concerned.

Thank you for writing, it is especially great to hear from employees who are so engaged and enthusiastic about the image of our brand.

Thank you

Moya
dunno about engaged and enthusiastic..more like pissed off that we got the blame for both when one was incorrect (shoddy jounalism!)
This was a news item posted on RMC about packets left in a bin.. Two different stories, from different areas using the same images! :d'oh!
One was an Amazon delivery and the other was delivered by RM..!
