Hi
Can anyone advise who's responsibilty it IS to look at suitable rounds and make any necassary adjustments prior to a re pick? The Dom knows about my disability but I had never heard of the ring fenced duties before now. Would it be for me to find out myself and request or is the Dom failing their responsibilty by not making me aware. The only time I have ever seen this in our office is once with the union rep, but there are at least 3 of us covered by the equalities act. I have had some IPS taken off the round , but that is off the round and goes for anyone covering it . Would this be classed as a reasonable adjustment as I am now being compared to the two cover men who are 20 years my junior and as far as I'm aware fit as fiddles. It's a daily battle trying to state that I am not going to get finished then another to say I won't get absorbing done and finish. All the while being told that the cover men don't have a problem. The covermen as well as being younger and not disabled book overtime tho. I am litterally running myself into the ground trying to get round in time.

Re: Reasonable adjustments
It depends on the nature and severity of your disability.
Have you ever been referred to Occupational Health?
If not, now is the time to request a referral.

Yes by phone appointment and one of the questions asked by the Dom was is he covered by equalities act which oh advised I was. They know about my medication and that I am on weekly injections and one of the managers had told me he looked up my disability and read into it.

Re: Reasonable adjustments
So having established you are covered by the Equality Act, it needs to be determined what, if any, adjustments need to be made to your duty.
Having a disability doesn't necessarily mean you have to have any adjustments to a duty.
For example I am asthmatic but my condition is generally well controlled by medication, and I don't need any adjustments.
If the duty is simply too big, and the cover needs overtime to complete, that is a separate issue to the need for reasonable adjustments under the equality act.

Ask for another Ohs referral and tell them you are struggling also did you get a copy of your last referral from Ohs so you can verify what was said.
