Be absolutely useless at being a postman ,then you will soon get moved into management

I think the first step would be to speak to your DOM, then a spell as an Acting Lino, though not in your own office (for your own benefit).

I have to say that 2 of the Linos in my office (one is Acting Lino) are actually better managers than the rest and they were actually very good posties.

They are unfortunately, the exception.

They are also dumped on from above on a regular basis which I don't think is a co-incidence.

Some motivational tips that my manager lives by:

-Don't do today what you can put off until tomorrow.
-Work may appear attractive, but laziness gives satisfaction.
-It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you take regular fag breaks.
-Overtime does not exist, it is merely a construct of the employees mind.
-Deal with lazy workers by giving them easy jobs, use hard workers to take up the slack.
-Never confront difficult situations, everything will work itself out.

We have one who's a bit of a floater between 3 offices, and is often seen out delivering cutoffs gone 6pm and back in at 4am the following day, gets treated like crap from his superiors - not sure why he does it tbh.

I wouldn't bother mate. When the company has finished with us, they're going to start on the management. We've got a couple in our office, ponsing about with times and figures of what you should be doing and when, and basically enjoying themselves. They don't seem to understand that they're going to get burned as soon as the budget cuts come from above. "Oh! You don't want to go back walking? Then you know where the door is."

Good point, I had flashbacks of some of the mousse(s) i have seen in my time here and it brought me out in a cold sweat,so I retract the statement. Some were so ugly, I am surprised they only had one head
