If an employee on long term sick is invited in for an informal review of the absence as part of an agreed contact strategy, can the manager use that meeting to incorporate a formal review 1 or 2 of the attendance agreement.
My own opinion is NO, as the manager is getting the individual in under false pretense's.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

if he tries to move the meeting outside the agreed parameters ,, i would stop the meeting , and leave

No, there are procedures in place which must be followed in order to undertake a formal Review. One particular aspect of those is the minimum notice period.
