Puke green redirection cards

Has RM changed its colour coding for redirection cards? Ever since I started they've always been yellow for an entire family move and lilac for not an entire family move. We came across one today that was a sort of puke green colour.

Yes. My initial assumption was that the *** DO NOT REDIRECT EXEMPT *** message on the card means that you DO redirect items that have "do not redirect" written on them. But now I'm not so sure.

Logically, DO NOT REDIRECT EXEMPT means that you don't redirect items with "do not redirect" written on them. If that's the case, why bother with a different card colour, because the procedure would then be the same as for the yellow and lilac cards.

But it says its exempt from "do not redirect" so you do redirect them.

Isn't it the sender who decides if they don't want it redirected? If the person has moved, they want the letter returning to them. How can the receiver say otherwise when it's the sender that pays?

DNR exempt is a court order AFAIK, so it doesn't matter what the sender wants in this instance - it's very rare though.

Some local authorities use DNR for much of their correspondence.

Somebody dies and the solicitor administering the estate will want all their correspondence, that is one example.

Also applies in cases of bankruptcy, often on the orders of the Official Receiver.
