International exchange programs
A big long shot, And I know RM is a UK company, But do they ever run programs that would let me work abroad for them?

I very much doubt it but if you find a opening in Barbados then count me in.sophie97 wrote:A big long shot, And I know RM is a UK company, But do they ever run programs that would let me work abroad for them?
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Re: International exchange programs
Given that it's almost impossible to get a transfer to an office in the next town then I very much doubt it.

Your best bet might be rural Scotish isles, Isle of Wight, or Isle of Man.

Re: International exchange programs
Have you got anywhere in mind and for how long? It is a long shot but it could well be worth pursuing not least of all from a publicity point of view. It could raise public awareness of the business. I'm not sure how you'd go about it but if you picked a location and contacted the mail service to ask if anyone would consider a swap if it would be allowed. You could swap homes for the duration and it would make a great article for the Courier. Speak to the union as well they have junkets all over the place with other communication unions.sophie97 wrote:A big long shot, And I know RM is a UK company, But do they ever run programs that would let me work abroad for them?

Alternatively, wait a few years when the UK will be part of the United States of Europe run from Brussels, and you'll be able to request a transfer to a EuroPost office in a different part of the USE.

Not Isle of Man, that's an entirely separate postal authority.IloveMYredTROLLEY! wrote:Your best bet might be rural Scotish isles, Isle of Wight, or Isle of Man.

You could always join the TA or other branch of armed forces reserves, I'm sure they would welcome your skills supporting our troops in battle zones around the world.
Or maybe you wanted something a bit cushier.

There is nothing stopping you moving to another country and apply for the job in another postal services. It would be interesting to see their views on two different postal services.
