Petrol station charged wrong money

Petrol station charged wrong money.

So I filled up diseal in the van. I went pay wit fuel card.
They charged me more money. I think he pressed the wrong pump when I had pay wit fuel card. I went back in the van. The worker chased me and said sorry he charged wrong money so I went back he gave me cash back and 2 recipts.

There were no managers When I got back to the office. I will explain to him in the morning.

I asked my work collegue. He said its not your fault.

Has this ever happened to anyone ??

why not most drivers do it and the management turns a blind to as it ensures the vans are filled up

All I can say is it's a good thing RM aren't particular whether managers uphold instructions, that there must be a hell of a lot of half blind managers and posties with a sack me wish, because what may be deemed a blind eye on Monday can quickly turn to 20/20 vision come Tuesday

That being so then vans will not be so readily filled and time must be taken out of duty to fill them up, servicing and vehicle check would done to last minute, these things more than likely to trip up an delivery expected performance target and the management will be obliged to deliver cut offs.....

I think the point is that if the Manager wants to be funny about it, that can work both ways. its not doing something wrong if the Management is ok with it, when you pay for the fuel there is nothing to stop you from using your Tesco club card point, don't know about other Offices but in mine there is a tacit understanding that we can collect points when filling up as I said before it as an incentive as it keeps the van constantly full without wasting time having to fill up before going out on delivery otherwise you will have a queue of van at the nearest petrol station early in the morning, it makes life easier for both parties, if that goodwill is withdrawn which is their prerogative, the we would just revert to how we did it before which can make things awkward for both sides but safeguards our position, naturally this will depend on whether you have a sensible Manager a rare breed indeed or someone who is does not have man management skills, this is done at zero cost to the business, it really needs to be formalised on paper that it is ok for a driver to collect points when filling up so we have it in black and white, at the moment it is quite ad hoc depending on who is in charge that particular time.

Did RM give it you in writing or just the local DOM because I'm pretty sure a manager was either sacked or suspended for filling vans up for the points. You give the impression that the vans are being filled up outside normal work hours.

im sure it was in the courier years ago saying it was ok to collect points from filling vans up

You're right it was an accepted practice some time ago but was put a stop to because of an incident about 2 years ago and the practice was brought to an end. If the having it in black and white was The Courier, I wouldn't hang my neck out for an out of date article.
