Thanks to the runners and the people who start early an who don't take there breaks the lapsing returns on Saturday for another 51 weeks of the year id just like to thank you to all of you for puting extra work on us who do the job by the book :

It'll be down to if Amazon is able to dispatch stuff into the network on Boxing day and if they are how far the stuff is able to pass through the pipeline

You think you wouldn't have lapsing if people didn't go in early? I suppose we'd all still have 2hr walks and a 2nd delivery with half a dozen letters too.

Don't get me wrong, I don't see why people work for free either - but blaming them for extra work is just wrong.

In our office if everyone started on there time and did the job right ie not driving like maniacs ,having breaks and running they would finish on there time ,people going in an hour early just doesn't help

Spot on mate, they think they're clever, only they're creating more lapsing for us all who do the job right and then we haven't got time to do the job. Mental.

The CWU have done nothing to address this.

Coming in early is nonsense, if you worked at Tesco would you start two hours early on your till and work for free? Are you even insured? What if you had an accident before your start time?

Doing the job properly would have secured more FT jobs, continuing to cut corners will cut jobs in the long term.

Some of the practises in RM are beyond belief!

We had a manager at our office a few years back who would pull the early birds up saying that they couldnt start early as they weren't insured.

He didnt last long on the floor and has since been moved 'upstairs'

The problem with the runners, early birds etc is that there is absolutely no getting through to them, they are a lost cause.

I tell them they are working for free, they call me a lazy so-so.

You can't win, our union rep doesnt care (too busy 'working' off a hangover/hiding in the locker).
