In this month’s Courier Moya Greene talks about the changing face of Christmas in her ‘My View’ column.

Moya says: ‘Thank you for the amazing job you’re doing to deliver Christmas.

‘Royal Mail colleagues across the country are working hard to ensure we have another brilliant festive period. It’s too early yet to declare this Christmas a success. Nevertheless, I’ve been humbled by everyone’s efforts so far.

Concentrated activity

‘Delivery activity is being concentrated in December like never before. Gone are the days when customers bought gifts online in October. People now shop just days before Christmas, confident that their parcels will arrive in good time.

‘We’re also expecting to see a spike in the despatch of online deliveries every Monday, right across the industry. More customers are ordering on a Sunday for next-day delivery, helped by the fact we’ve opened up our network at weekends.

‘This just proves that we must adapt quickly to meet our customers’ changing needs. If we don’t, our competitors will.

I can see Christmas Eve been a very busy day for Managers delivering packets that staff won't get done, because i for one will not be working over.

Oh and she's looking a bit rough there.
