im looking forward to my 1st stress free Christmas in 20+ years ,, i left 6 months ago on IHR ,, and reading on here about conditions this Christmas it seems nothing changes and everything is still going downhill rapidly,,i now work 60 plus hours 7 days a week but its for myself,, and i dont have a quarter of the pressure i had in my last year as a postie ,, good luck to you all ,, it looks like you will need it

I think I'll stick to what I'm doing at present. Five days a week and anything up to ten hours overtime, maximum.

yea my first day off in about 6 months will be christmas day and im loving it ,, no back biting , no one pushing and pushing for more that i cant give ,,i choose what hours i work ,, and when you enjoy what you do it isnt a hardship ,, i dont struggle to get up in the morning ,, and every day is a new adventure ,,and its in my hands ,, i do miss the camaraderie and some of my colleagues , i know its the best thing for me ,, but for others it might be different

I work 39hrs over 5 days with zero pressure....many posties bring it upon themselves. Doesn't matter whether there is 39hrs work or 139hrs work.

I work 55 hrs a week, ( 6 days )... take home £450... no pressure what so ever ... love every single minute of it ....been in GPO / Royal Mail for donkeys .... top job and top take home pay ... for what I do !!! during my service I paid off my mortgage, I do not smoke and and never drink ... I just do not know what to do with £450 every week ? honest !!!

i invested my IHR money in a new business ,, i opened up a small Grocery/Convenience Store about a 100 yards from my front door ,, its hard going just now with only 2 of us working 60 odd hours a week each but i am apparently a changed person a lot less stressed and grumpy ,, i dont have to answer to anyone , and when i am able to take on more staff, life will get easier , till then head down and get on with it ,, i always wanted to be a postie ,, my Dad done 40 years ,, but i was bullied and stressed out after 20 years ,, so now following in my mums footsteps with a shop ,, and yeah i do sell stamps
