Unballoted Industrial Action : Brentwood Delivery Office

Mail deliveries and some collections are likely to be disrupted today in the Brentwood area due to unballoted industrial action being taken by staff at the Brentwood Delivery Office (CM13, 14 & 15 postcodes).

The Enquiry Office remains open for customers to collect items for which we’ve left a ‘Something for you’ card. A further update on the situation will be provided in our afternoon edition. We’d like to apologise to customers in the Brentwood area for the disruption this action is causing to mail services today.

Does the acceptance of those generous terms mean that they have to accept what they think was unacceptable. Without knowing the cause of the walkout its premature to condemn their actions. However, it is depressing that some see people exercising a Human Right to withdraw their Labour as enough reason to terminate their contract, its even sadder people want to have others punished for a legal act, without first knowing the reasons behind the action.

Leave an office without any trained staff working in it in the run up to Xmas? such a lack of logic. The answer is for managers to stop being pig headed & sort out the dispute properly. It works elsewhere.

I believe the problem at the Brentwood office, is down to a shortage of staff exacerbated by a revision that has left the office pretty much in total chaos ie prep taking up to 5 hrs on some deliveries....erm basically RM management have arsed it up (as usual) and basically left the employees up the swanee without the proverbial paddle....and at the busiest time of year...nice one!
Check the share price out people it tells you something either ;
this company is so poorly run that the **** will hit the fan and relatively quickly or
RM top brass are deliberately running this company down on some sort of hidden agenda
Either way, it doesn't matter how hard or efficiently work there are external pressures at work here and we are powerless little pawns in other peoples little games.

The only reason we have the terms, conditions and pay that we have is through collective bargaining. If we were all like you we would be screwed!
