LTB 758/14 - Quadrant Pay Claim 2014/15 Agreement & Ballot Arrangements

No. 758/2014
Ref: 301.03
Date: 21st November 2014

To: All Branch Secretaries with Quadrant Members
Area Quadrant Representatives
Divisional Representatives

Dear Colleague

Quadrant Pay Claim 2014/15 Agreement & Ballot Arrangements
Further to LTB 677/14 regarding the future of catering services we are very pleased to advise you that we have in parallel also been successful in negotiating a negotiator's agreement on this years pay award.

The offer that has been achieved has been endorsed by the Postal Executive for recommendation to the Quadrant membership.

You will all be aware of the continuing pressure on Quadrant provision and performance as a consequence of the general economic crisis, the financial efficiencies within Royal Mail and declining usage. We are also convinced that you will recognise that many workers are struggling to achieve pay awards, let alone ones that are RPI matching.

Against that backdrop we believe that the offer achieved provides recognition for the contribution, dedication and effort of our Quadrant members and is for:

Ø 2.3% on all elements of pay (including allowances and overtime etc) backdated to the 1st October 2014.

Ø In addition it has been agreed that due to poor performance of the existing national Productivity Scheme and the Strive for Sales scheme that these will be ceased from December 2014 and further discussions will take place in respect of more localised achievable incentives for Quadrant employees. Discussions are continuing on a replacement interim productivity scheme whilst we focus on the 'securing the future' review.

This offer is to be put before the Quadrant membership with a recommendation for a Yes vote.

Ballot Timetable

Following consultation with the SDGS department the details for the ballot are as follows:

Ø Ballot Papers Dispatched: Tuesday 25/11/2014
Ø Ballot Closes: Tuesday 09/12/2014
Branch Secretaries are requested to ensure that our members are made aware of the content of this LTB and that every effort is made to encourage our members to use their vote.
