50 mile trip to physio

I've been off since June with Tendonitis again. Rehab Works have accepted me to attend a physiotherapy course with them 50 miles out of my home city.

I can't afford to travel there and back on bus and train tickets. In fact I don't have the money to buy them at the moment! It's causing me stress with all Xmas and all that.

I am right to refuse due to the travel involved?

Yea they are meant to find the nearest clinic to you. I had a choice of 3.

Try asking your manager for a sub before you go so you can buy tickets, they reimburse you anyway, alternatively credit card perhaps so you'll get the money back from RM before you've had to pay it yourself.

i had this issue and raised it with both my rep and 3 different managers and also the staff at rehabworks but was told that there was no other way for it to be done i hd to pay for the tickets and be reimbursed each time i went it cost me 65.50 and i struggled. also not impressed with the physios up there as when i told the physio who is linked to the surgeon i saw the exercises that rehabworks gave me i was told to stop immediatly and that the exercises were agravatting my condition. im now in the situation of the final 4 weeks for improvemnt in my knee before being put through for ihr

they are a waste of time and money. there is nowt they can do that cannot be done under normal physio training. I went for a few months when I had my first knee done and it was mind numbing. the morning is filled in asking questions on anatomy and injuries and how you can help prevent it from happening again etc. the afternoons are filled with a couple of hours physio/exercises etc. they are trying to justify the extortionate fees they charge royal mail. total ball cocks.

It was last night i checked my account and i didn't have enough to cover the trip around £50, (both ways) Bus Fares into town, train return ticket and taxis to and back from the station.

Phoned up this morning and said i couldn't afford it and felt so embarrassed! DOM wouldn't stop asking me questions on why i didn't tell her quickly enough, truth is i am worried and stressed and fooled myself into trying to get myself fit again!

Had an altercation as the stress is building up in me and don't see the point of me getting physio from a 100 mile round trip, when there are plenty of places in my city. When Its going to aggravate my condition too!

tell them you cant afford to pull 50 quid out in one go at a time, but you are quite willing to go in a works van...that'll probably shut them up.

iv just finished my 6 week course today, i wouldn't call it a waste of time, yes some of the education sessions are boring, but i got a lot out of it more than i thought i would, just depends on your circumstances really and your frame of mind everyone has the own view's.

it was a 72 mile round trip for me and i got £32 fuel allowance, i only put £30 fuel in the car a week anyways so result. plus its a day outta graft and a gym session to boot.

Stick a bulling and harassment claim in the numbers on the back of your payslip maybe then you will get the attention for your problem resolved.
