Special Leave

Post by jacobliam »

My Nan has just died, and for the last 20 years she has basically been my Mother. I've been given today off but I was wondering if I am entitled to any more time off?. There is that much to sort out as myself and my Uncle are executor's of the Will. Cheers in advance

Sorry to hear about your loss jacobliam - although the time you are entitled to would usually be limited, if you are the named next of kin or have the main responsibility for funeral arrangements I think you may be entitled to the same conditions as a son/daughter/husband etc. in the same sad position. Otherwise you may only get the funeral day. Sorting out a will is something RM would expect you to do in your own time.

This is from the Special Leave Document.

If arranging a funeral up to one week with pay, which includes the bereavement, arranging the funeral and any other duties (This is for arranging funerals of next of kin or as an executor).
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
