6 yorks of mail and packets, due for delivery today were left at the mail centre until lunchtime, as apparently there wasnt a driver to deliver it to our delivery office this morning.

No wonder Royal Fail is loosing business and money, when you have this sort of thing going on!

On Saturday night capacity issues at our National Distribution Centre (NDC) meant that not all mail could travel on scheduled outbound services. Although mail was sent out later on reserve vehicles, this could mean a delay to mail posted on Saturday for delivery today for the following areas:

NDC-Leeds Mail Centre - Posted in other parts of the UK for delivery today in the BD, HD, HG, HX, LS, WF and YO postcode areas.

Mails network & distribution

Air
Last night not all mail due to travel on the flight from Exeter-East Midlands could be loaded to schedule, and some mail was returned to the Mail Centre for onward transportation by road. As a result of this a small amount of mail posted in the far South West of England yesterday for delivery in other parts of the UK is likely to arrive later than planned.

Last night a small amount of mail arriving on the flight from Edinburgh was unable to travel on the scheduled vehicle from Stansted Airport due to capacity issues. As a result of this some mail posted yesterday for delivery in parts of London and South East England is likely to arrive later than planned.

Technical issues meant that the flight from East Midlands-Bournemouth took off later than planned last night. As a result of this a small amount of mail posted in the North West of England for delivery in parts of the South West, and the Channel Islands may arrive later than planned.

Rail
The locomotive travelling from Princess Royal Distribution Centre to the Newcastle Mail Centre arrived late last night. As a result of this some mail posted in London and the South East of England yesterday for delivery in the North East of England is likely to arrive later than expected.

Road
Last night capacity issues with vehicles at our National Distribution Centre meant that not all mail could travel on all scheduled outbound services. This could result in some mail posted yesterday in other parts of the UK arriving later than expected in parts of the Midlands, West Yorkshire and the CF, LD, NP, CM, CO and SS postcode areas.

The vehicle travelling from Jubilee Mail Centre to the South West Distribution Centre arrived late last night due to heavy traffic. As a result of this a small amount of mail posted in the GU, KT, SW and TW postcode areas for delivery in the EX and TQ postcode areas may arrive later than planned.

Deliveries and collections
Mail deliveries and collections were performed in all parts of the UK yesterday and we expect to operate a full range of services today.

Mail Centre processing
Mail centres generally operated well yesterday.

The late arrival of some mail in to our Sheffield Mail Centre yesterday meant that not all outbound mail could be processed to schedule. As a result, a small amount of mail posted in the DN, HU, LN and S postcode areas for delivery in other parts of the UK may arrive later than expected.

I got told off for a failed tracked item last week. It turned out the tracked item arrived in our DO the day after it should have been delivered, because it failed to leave the MC.

Beggars belief !
