ye the guy nick wells from whisl is saying that the cost base of royal mail needs to looked at, basically sayin, reduce the terms and conditions then it will make more money, and not wing over the uso.

whisl is cherry picking only delivering to the high urban areas.. and deliver 3 days a week to a particular location in any 1 week span..

the whisl bloke is a tool, posties work very hard and deserve desent pay and good working conditions, how nick wells can sit there and say that to royal mail is a disgrace,,, he has his posties on minimum wage, no sick no holiday pay and zero hours i know because ive spoke to whisl posties / employees

The bloke on TV earlier today was concerned about the one price for all BUT he didn't mention the 6 day delivery and suggested that a solution had to be found by Ofcom. I suppose one solution would be to drop the 6 day week in its present form, reduce staff and thereby costs, now wouldn't that suit Royal Mail and no doubt the CWU would be trumpeting that it was to save full time jobs without mentioning the loss of jobs overall.

so to achieve this level of service and achieve high performance targets, it will have a higher cost base and higher overall costs to maintain the USO,,, the whisl bloke nick wells does NOT seem to see that royal mail will have higher cost base then his company because he is cherry picking and does not have the cost base like royal mail has. SO royal mail needs to make a higher revenue profit base to sustain and support the USO...

whislt does not need to meet the targets and revenue royal mail needs to support the service, thus whisl is cherry picking...

Also whisl can still take in mail for rural areas and pass it on to RM to deliver at reduced cost for them and increased cost for us, now how can that be classed as a level playing field.

They said on Radio 5 that Whisl will be delivering to 43% of UK addresses within 3 years but only covering 8% of the UK land mass.

A question from the panel to Moya was would removing the Saturday delivery be any benefit to Royal Mail, Her answer was No so what are they planning ?. oh and our leader Billy Hayes was asked how many staff are members of the CWU he could not answer !!!!!!!!!! I watched all of it and my opinion they were all hold back on the truth but the panel are not letting them get away with it they have to produce facts and figures now
