Received this pile of propaganda this morning. Seems that RM Management are basing ALL their future figures on a large crystal ball. Where can RM Posties get this ball?

I read this the first time and didn't think anything of it but 76, 000 seems a pretty low figure for hand held capture devices by 2016/17 or am I reading too much into this.

So ~£130M on ~76000 new PDAs, just a few years after spending how much on those brick PDAs (with useless batteries) that were rolled out during Delivery Methods?

And how much was spent on the new uniforms, which are no better than the items they replaced?

And how much was spent on those vans, which are not designed for short stop-start daily use?

And how much was spent on WCM staff positions and their wonderful ideas to make things more efficient?

Why are the top roll managers being awarded for wasting millions of pounds?

Think it's more a case of showing that the Company is communicating with it's Staff. They need it for Industry awards such as Investing in People, which they need because other companies will only deal with suppliers/services that have certain awards.

Agree they appear to waste a load of money but you can Opt out of receiving the Courier, which may help your Blood Pressure! Unfortunately I don't think you can Opt out of WTL, and we're all condemned to be Brainwashed by that Dim women, who obviously couldn't get a job on local TV! Oh and don't forget to set up your Twitter thingey so you can get the latest updates as you're slogging around your Duty!

Seriously, I have never known a company that always communicate to its workers like its going to sink faster than the titanic?? All the news you read either in the courier or on here is all about "we need to change our working practices or we are going to die". And yet the reality is....we made a healthy half-yearly operating profit of £279 million. And we still have large departments designing/buying new uniforms, new vans, new PDAs etc etc

The iceberg was hit a few years ago now when our monopoly ended. Crozier, Leighton and pals dashed off with their sizeable bonuses and have left a Captain on board who doesn't really know which way our ship should be steered. Its the same old path though as other competitors take some business off us and the business team start blue sky dreaming of ways to cut costs. I say 'dreaming' because when a lot of their think-tank ideas get put to Area Reps and communicated down the food chain they are actually laughable; because if they were put into practice we probably would not have a business!! If the Captain does her homework she might find that there are a few senior managerial staff that need looking at in the upper and middle decks, rather than those that are keeping the Royal Mail engine going in the lower deck.
