My trolley wheels went through dog crap,im fed up of it last week happened a few times,its hidden under fallen leafs,i had to grab a handful of leafs and wipe my trolley wheels today before folding it up and popping it in the van for the next loop,if I ever catch any dog walker not picking there own dog mess up,they will be reported. don't you think RM should supply plastic gloves or wet wipes .its disgusting

I know how you feel It's the moment you and your buddy get back into the van drive off and suddenly notice that evil smell in the van with you. We carry some spare plastic gloves and paper towel from when we refuel the van and use them for emergency cleaning, makes me retch though

where I deliver some dog walkers go to the trouble of picking it up and putting it in bags but then just drop the bags on the pavement

Why I don't use a trolley RM have nothing in place to clean dogs dirt from trolley . Then trolley dumped in back of van where parcels and delivery pouches sit next day not exactly health & safety

But health & safety is your responsibility as well as management's responsibility.
You shouldn't accept unsafe systems of work.

I don't think RM see the dog sh1t as a problem because there's only about 25% of the staff who are supposed to use them use them. I brought this subject up with the HS guy once who said - "just avoid it" obviously not a guy au fait with delivering with a trolley or delivering in general, he was from a MC. It's a more serious occurrence than you might consider because it's possible to lose your sight from an infection brought on by contact with dog mess.
